The correct answer is : A secret night attack on him and his households to assassin him
Ref: Surah An-Naml 27: 49
Translation:
They vowed, “Let us swear by Allah that we will take him and his family down by night. Then we will certainly say to his ˹closest˺ heirs, ‘We did not witness the murder of his family. We are definitely telling the truth.’”
Tafseer / Explanation:
-
The nine wicked leaders of Thamūd secretly plotted to kill Prophet Ṣāliḥ (عليه السلام).
-
They agreed to attack him and his family at night, planning to murder them treacherously.
-
After that, they intended to deny involvement and swear innocence before his tribe.
-
Their plan relied on deceit, thinking they could escape justice.
-
This verse highlights how disbelievers conspire against prophets, but Allah is the best of planners.
