وَدَاوُۥدَ وَسُلَيْمَـٰنَ إِذْ يَحْكُمَانِ فِى ٱلْحَرْثِ إِذْ نَفَشَتْ فِيهِ غَنَمُ ٱلْقَوْمِ وَكُنَّا لِحُكْمِهِمْ شَـٰهِدِينَ ٧٨
Translation:
And ˹remember˺ when David and Solomon passed judgment regarding the crops ruined ˹at night˺ by someone’s sheep, and We were witness to their judgments.
Tafseer / Explanation:

Allah recalls the case of Prophet Dawud (AS) and Prophet Sulaiman (AS).

They judged in a dispute concerning a field damaged at night by another’s sheep.

Both were given wisdom and knowledge to settle matters justly.

Sulaiman (AS) was inspired with a judgment that was fairer in that case.

Allah affirms that He gave them both understanding and favored them greatly.
