Translation:

"And [recall] when you said, 'O Moses, we can never endure one [kind of] food. So call upon your Lord to bring forth for us from the earth its green herbs, its cucumbers, its garlic, its lentils, and its onions.' [Moses] said, 'Would you exchange what is better for what is less? Go down to [any] Egypt, for indeed, you will have what you have asked.' And they were covered with humiliation and poverty and returned with anger from Allah [upon them]. That was because they [repeatedly] disbelieved in the signs of Allah and killed the prophets without right. That was because they disobeyed and were [habitually] transgressing."

Translation:

"And they followed [instead] what the devils had recited during the reign of Solomon. It was not Solomon who disbelieved, but the devils disbelieved, teaching people magic and that which was revealed to the two angels at Babylon, Harut and Marut. But they [the two angels] did not teach anyone unless they said, 'We are only a trial, so do not disbelieve [by practicing magic].' Yet they learned from them that by which they cause separation between a man and his wife. But they do not harm anyone except by permission of Allah. And they learn what harms them and does not benefit them. And they certainly knew that whoever purchased the magic would have no share in the Hereafter. And wretched is that for which they sold themselves, if they only knew."
